How We Approach Every Service
Each service at Escapement follows the same underlying structure: look first, communicate findings, proceed with approval, document the outcome. The specific steps differ by service type, but the discipline is consistent.
We don't rush. A quartz service done properly — with clean contacts, a correctly seated cell, and a confirmed resistance seal — takes longer than a battery swap. A vintage overhaul done properly takes days. We set realistic timelines and hold to them.

Service 01
Quartz Service & Battery Care

A practical service for quartz timepieces. The movement is checked, a fresh cell is fitted with correct torque, contacts are cleaned, and the crown seals are renewed. We follow up with a basic pressure resistance test and provide a short written report on movement health along with a function check of all complications.
This service suits everyday and sports watches that need dependable function restored — from a daily wearer to a holiday dive watch brought in before heading to the water.

Refinish & Resistance Package

Light micro-polishing respects original surface geometry, and a thorough exterior clean completes the work.
Suited to sport and dive watches worn regularly in and around water — particularly relevant in Phuket, where salt exposure and humidity accelerate exterior wear.

This program suits pieces that have sentimental or collector value — where the goal is to restore function and presentability while preserving what makes the watch historically accurate.

03 — Technical Standards
Shared Standards Across All Services
Pressure Testing Protocol
All resistance-rated pieces tested with dry air pressure before wet submersion testing. Results recorded and reported.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Case and bracelet components cleaned ultrasonically to remove contamination before finishing or reassembly.
Electronic Timing
Mechanical movements regulated using calibrated timing equipment. Rate and amplitude recorded in service documentation.
Spec-Grade Lubricants
Movements lubricated with correct-specification compounds per movement type — not generic oil applied broadly.
Secure Custody
All pieces tracked and stored securely from intake through to collection. Condition documented at both handover points.
Service Documentation
Written records accompany every completed job, covering work performed, parts used, and relevant observations.
